Valerie Von Fange was raised in California, but was born and now lives in Virginia. One of eight kids from parents married over 60 years, she feels blessed to be part of a close family rooted in the Catholic faith.
Valerie’s musical formation began in community and church choirs during her elementary years. At age twelve, she started training in classical piano and attributes her development to her parents who never forced her and made it possible to practice in a non-disruptive setting. She studied under an accomplished and patient teacher, quickly advancing to Bach and Beethoven until it was time to leave for college.
In 1983, Valerie earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business from Pepperdine University, a choice that would later give her nice job mobility. In 1984, after a year in restaurant management, she began her career in telecommunications and worked in various positions (operations, sales support, training, sales engineering, and marketing). In 1999, Valerie decided to shift gears and move to Northern Virginia, a full circle from where her life began. She taught high-school business and computer applications and provided private music instruction. In 2004, she began working for her husband's company, Antique Tables Made Daily, Inc. All along the way, her passion for music carved time for ministry in churches and retirement homes, while she performed at festivals, wineries, restaurants and benefit dances/concerts.
In 2005, Valerie's song-writing eventually blossomed whereby she released and co-produced her first original CD, Steadfast Love. In 2008, the following Steadfast Love songs made the Top Ten Catholic Song picks receiving media exposure:
Subsequently, Psalm 123 from the Steadfast Love CD was selected for the Catholic Music 2008 CD, featuring 34 Catholic artists across the U.S. About the same time CM2008 was released, Valerie was selected as a featured artist for Christmas in the Shenandoah, a compilation of Yuletide favorites performed by Northern Virginia musicians. In 2010, Valerie released and co-produced her second original CD, Witness.
Today, besides co-managing Antique Tables Made Daily, Valerie teaches music and religious education, provides music ministry for churches and performs at wineries. She has been a featured musician/songwriter in the Arlington Catholic Herald, National Catholic Register, Faith & Family Magazine, The Catholic Channel - SiriusXm Radio, Catholic Music Express Radio, and on EWTN Backstage Television and Virginia Living Television.
